This one is made of terry cloth — the looped, softly textured fabric of the best beach towels, a material whose entire character is softness, warmth, and ease. In candy pink — warm, saturated, unapologetically sweet, the pink of bubble gum and fully open garden roses — the terry hobo is the collection’s most immediate and most seasonally specific piece: a bag for summer, the beach, the Saturday morning market, every context where the correct response to the day is lightness and colour.

Terry cloth has qualities leather cannot match: immediately tactile, soft against the shoulder, light enough to carry without awareness of its weight. The hobo silhouette — crescent-shaped, unstructured, soft-draping — is the format most suited to terry: the unstructured body draping and settling naturally against the hip.
